Making Osome a Place to Belong
While awareness months can provide a useful moment to spotlight important topics, our commitment to building an inclusive and supportive workplace isn't limited to a particular date on the calendar. We're continually looking for ways to improve, listen, learn, and create an environment where everyone feels they belong and can thrive.
That’s why, at Osome, we want inclusion to be something people feel every day
For some people in our company, and for many people around the world, being fully yourself is still not always safe or accepted. In some communities, cultures, religions, or countries, people continue to face discrimination, judgement, exclusion, or fear simply because of who they are.
That reality matters. And it is one of the reasons workplaces play such an important role.
A workplace should be more than somewhere people come to do their jobs. It should be a place where people feel seen, respected, valued, and safe to contribute as themselves, without feeling pressure to hide parts of their identity in order to belong.
To us, inclusion is not about everyone being the same. It is about ensuring every person is treated with dignity, given equal opportunity, and feels they have a place where they belong.
We also recognise that inclusion is not built through statements alone. It is created through everyday actions. For instance, how we listen to one another, how we make people feel, how we educate people, how we challenge discrimination and hold people accountable, how we create psychological safety, and how we support people when they face difficult situations both inside and outside of work.
As mentioned, this message applies not only during awareness months, but across every cultural moment, awareness event, and conversation about belonging. Whether it relates to gender, sexuality, race, nationality, religion, disability, mental health, or any other part of someone’s identity, our stance remains the same: people deserve to be treated with care, fairness, and respect.
For our internal colleagues, who may not always feel safe or seen outside of work, we hope you know that you are valued here. Your voice matters, your experiences matter, and you deserve to feel supported.
And for those who want to continue learning how to become stronger allies, we encourage you to engage with communities at Osome, and continue having open, respectful conversations that help us build a more inclusive environment together.
Creating an inclusive culture is not a one time initiative. It is an ongoing and deliberate commitment, and one we collectively help shape together.
