Growing in Different Directions: Three Career Journeys at Osome
Career growth doesn't always follow a straight line. For some, it means turning an internship into a full-time career. For others, it means exploring a completely new function through internal mobility. Sometimes, it even means leaving, gaining new experiences, and returning with a fresh perspective.
What connects these journeys is a culture that encourages growth, supports ambition, and recognises potential. Meet Rebecca Wang, Nadia Ahmad, and Sanggetha Sagar, three Osomers whose stories show how growth can take many forms when the right environment, the right people and a willingness to learn come together.
Rebecca's Growth Story: From Intern to Permanent
When Rebecca joined Osome as an FP&A Intern, she expected to gain hands-on experience. What she didn't expect was how quickly she would be trusted with meaningful work and exposed to the realities of running a business.
One of the defining moments in her journey came when she participated in a real budgeting cycle. It gave her valuable exposure to how business strategy translates into financial decisions and how leaders navigate uncertainty.
"The biggest project for me came from being part of a real budgeting cycle. Seeing how strategy turns into numbers, sitting in on negotiation phases, and watching how my manager deals with all the uncertainty and changes really felt like getting a behind-the-scenes look at how the business actually works. Something I wouldn’t get from school."
Beyond the experience itself, the feedback she received along the way played an equally important role in her development.
"The early direct feedback I received pushed me to adjust how I showed up. That mix of real work and feedback gave me a lot more confidence stepping into a full-time role."
Today, Rebecca has successfully transitioned into an FP&A Analyst role, building on the foundation she developed during her internship and continuing to grow her expertise within the business.

Nadia's Story: Discovering a New Passion Through Internal Mobility Programme:
Not every career journey follows a traditional path.
Nadia joined Osome as a Business Admin Support specialist, where she spent two years building a strong operational foundation. During that time, she became increasingly curious about other areas of the business and started thinking about what her next challenge could be.
Driven by a desire to grow and step outside her comfort zone, Nadia explored opportunities through Osome's internal mobility programme and eventually transitioned into a KYC role.
"I was looking for an opportunity to grow my career and step out of my comfort zone, which led me to explore a move from Business Admin Support to KYC."
Making the switch meant learning new processes, building new skills and adapting to a completely different area of the business. Throughout the transition, she found support from the people around her.
"Osome gave me the opportunity to make that transition, and I was lucky to have the support of both my manager and teammates along the way. Whenever I had questions or needed guidance, they were always willing to help and share their knowledge."
For Nadia, the experience reinforced an important lesson about growth: sometimes the biggest opportunities come from being willing to try something new.
"The experience showed me that Osome truly supports employees who are willing to learn, grow and take on new challenges."
Today, Nadia is building a career in a field she is genuinely passionate about, showing that growth can sometimes mean changing direction entirely.

Sanggetha's Story: Leaving, Returning and Growing Further
Career journeys are rarely linear, and Sanggetha's story is proof of that.
She first joined Osome in 2021 as an Account Associate and steadily progressed through the team, earning two promotions and becoming a Senior Account Executive. After leaving the company in 2023 to pursue new opportunities, she gained valuable experiences that broadened her perspective.
But during her time away, she found herself reflecting on what she valued most in a workplace.
In April 2024, Sanggetha returned to Osome as a Junior Accountant. Just over a year later, in July 2025, she was promoted to Assistant Team Lead — a testament to both her continued growth and the impact she made after returning.
"My time away helped me appreciate what makes Osome special, the supportive people, collaborative culture and opportunities to grow."
Returning wasn't simply about coming back to a familiar company. It was an opportunity to apply new experiences, embrace fresh challenges and continue developing her career from a different starting point.
"Returning has given me a fresh perspective and reinforced the importance of continuous learning, adaptability and stepping outside my comfort zone, all of which have played a key role in my personal and professional growth."
Her journey shows that growth doesn't stop when someone leaves. Sometimes, the experiences gained elsewhere can make the next chapter even more meaningful.
